Hi, my name is Vered

Certified yoga instructor and yoga therapist

 

Teaching yoga is my way of making a difference in the world. I believe that the more people in the world practice and embrace a 'yogic' way of life, the better our world will be. It may sound a bit idealistic and grand, but in fact, it involves very small actions: Paying attention to our daily actions, being aware of ourselves and our surroundings with compassion and acceptance.

The first time I practiced yoga was at the age of 20, twenty years ago. I signed up for the first class because I heard that yoga helps with weight loss. At that time, I had a complicated relationship with my body. Looking back now, I can say that I was simply disconnected from it. After a brief experience with a few yoga poses and hearing experiences from others, I also understood that it's a sport entirely tolerable for me – no need to jump and run. The truth is, I suffered in that class. I felt heavy and lacked coordination, I found it difficult to work with the breath, and after the class, I had feelings I hadn't felt before. Today, looking back, I can say that even though I felt that way, I didn't come out of there slimmer... but with a clearer understanding, which allows me to feel more comfortable in my body and present in my essence. This good feeling created curiosity in me (which continues to this day). I continued to attend classes. Over the years and changes, my goals for practice and my search for practice styles have changed and are constantly changing. If initially I practiced just to "keep fit" and mark achievements in the body, later on, the deeper aspect of practice drew me in. Working with breath and awareness, the texts and philosophy of yoga, have become a compass for my daily life. The practice accompanied me in different periods of my life and always supported me. It is expressed in my relationships with myself and with the environment and in my actions in the world – in the small and big choices I make in life. Over the years, I learned from a variety of teachers and experienced almost all yoga streams. During pregnancies and becoming a mother, I felt how yoga supports my new situation and found many answers to questions and feelings that arose along with motherhood. At that time, I realized that I wanted to deepen my knowledge and enrolled in a teacher training course. Since then and up to today, I have continued to study and deepen my curiosity in the path of yoga and the many possibilities it offers to help live better and more peaceful lives. There is a saying that a yoga teacher is like a pipe - a vessel for transferring knowledge. I met many yoga teachers, and indeed, each one is a unique vessel, and each has their own way of transferring knowledge. From the same  ancient knowledge that passed and passes to me through my teachers over the years along with the direct experience in my personal practice, the experience in teaching and the encounters with students, my path has been formed.

Practice at your home

If, for any medical or emotional reason, you find it difficult to leave the house, but still want to use yoga tools to improve your condition, or if you prefer to practice in a familiar environment for other reasons- I can come to you. After an initial meeting, I will tailor a series of practices to suit your condition. In yoga therapy, we always start where the patient is. If it is difficult for you to stand, we will practice sitting. If it is hard for you to get out of bed, we will adapt the practice to be done lying down. With small steps, a lot of attention, and daily practice, change is guaranteed.
